Snow is Gone and Leucistic Robin Has Returned

Leucistic robin on 1400 block Grant Street, Bellingham via Barry

Headed up the Skagit Valley yesterday to visit a few sites for work. Just did not make sense to be on the writing machine with sunny weather after the bit of cold rain with snow thrown in on occasion of the past few weeks. And I'll be doing field work today as well because the snow is gone and the birds are back - including our neighborhood's Leucistic Robin spotted first by Barry yesterday.

Very cool! Have you noticed the trait being passed to any offspring?

Beautiful bird!

Last year was the first time I spotted the bird. May have to find where it nests - a bit challenging in our urban wilderness of 4,000 square foot lots. Also would love to know where it spent the winter.

We also have 2 of these beautiful birds in our neighborhood here in PA. I have a small bird and also a larger bird, leading me to the assumption that the traits are carried on to their offspring.
