I was out on the Lummi River estuary to watch the students from Northwest Indian College launch rockets. The Lummi River is a former route of the Nooksack River and is an area of broad flat tideland and old poorly drained former farmland - a great spot for rocket launches.

A day of pride, accomplishment and fun. Four of the students are heading to NASA internships. The students are from various parts of the western U.S. and attend Northwest Indian College.
