Had a nice field day yesterday exploring filled tide lands in Anacortes, a forested site on a shoreline on the east side of Whidbey Island and another site on central Whidbey Island. I got the view above of fog moving through a stand of forest near Ebey's Prairie south of Coupeville. The site is part of Ebey's Landing National Historic Reserve http://www.nps.gov/ebla/. The Reserve also has a nice blog HERE. The Reserve is a means of preserving a landscape that is unique to western Washington. I feel fortunate that I get to work and pass through this area as part of my job. The building in the photo is the Ferry House. The Ferry House even has its own Face Book page HERE.
