I'm working on another project about her. By the way, my book is now available, Madame Dorion: Her Journey to the Oregon Country. It is as accurate as I could make it, but would love any further comments.Lenora Goodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03306895784336545124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188642669907788257.post-84534085929611220482013-11-23T04:43:46.198-08:002013-11-23T04:43:46.198-08:00Marie Dorian was my 4th Great~Grandmother. I'll head on down to Astoria later. Had to forego Union Pass, WY as it was too wet and considered dangerous. Drat! But she was an amazing woman and probably did much to keep Hunt's men alive on the long trek.

Thanks for you blog on her.Lenora Goodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03306895784336545124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188642669907788257.post-91167687104858428752013-06-02T16:09:21.618-07:002013-06-02T16:09:21.618-07:00I learned about Marie Dorion when the City of Milt...I learned about Marie Dorion when the City of Milton Freewater hired me to create an information sign for the nearby Marie Dorion Park (not to be confused with the park on the Columbia). I was so impressed with her that I have been using her story as a research project for the writing classes I teach. My students are likewise impressed. She was an amazing woman.BodiePhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17498373579353402968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188642669907788257.post-31962439177412687492010-11-15T15:02:02.158-08:002010-11-15T15:02:02.158-08:00Thanks Anne. It was interesting that Bill Gullick ranks her above Sacagwea in his Roadside History of Oregon, but made no mention of the small park or Dorion in his Roadside History of Washington.Dan McShanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17044037213245602667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9188642669907788257.post-40953879132524505612010-11-14T19:06:25.563-08:002010-11-14T19:06:25.563-08:00Whoa!
